Digital Format:
Starting in 2023, the SAT moved from paper-based to digital, meaning students take the test on a laptop or tablet. Students can use their own devices or borrow one from the College Board. The test is conducted at a test center, but in an online format.
Shorter Duration:
The digital SAT is approximately two hours long, down from the previous three hours. Despite being shorter, the test covers all the essential content areas of the previous format but with fewer questions and a more efficient structure. 

Adaptive Testing:
The digital SAT uses adaptive testing. This means that the difficulty of the questions adjusts based on the student’s performance in earlier parts of the test. This allows for a more precise evaluation of a student’s abilities in a shorter time.
New Test Sections:
The test still comprises two main sections:
Reading & Writing: Combined into one section, instead of having separate Reading and Writing sections.
Mathematics: Focuses on key math concepts, similar to the previous SAT. The Reading & Writing section features shorter passages with one question per passage, making the reading material more focused and manageable.
Tools and Features:
The digital test includes built-in tools such as a calculator (for the entire math section) and an annotation tool to highlight and make notes on passages.
